Sherrill’s Pioneer Restaurant
Location
Dean Sherrill and his wife Lisa own and run the Pioneer with the help of a lot of family members. Always a family affair, the Pioneer was operated in the 1960s and ’70s by Dean, his brother, and their mother. Local folks crowd into the small restaurant and fill its 10 booths and all the counter space for breakfast and lunch. Try the homemade vegetable beef soup. At $3.25 a bowl, it is a bargain. At lunch and dinner, locals love the meat-and-three-vegetable specials that cost just a little more than $6.
