Dixie III Restaurant
Location
Asheboro attorney Ricky Cox makes his way to Dixie III at least three times a week because “their fried shrimp is so good.” His law partner, Alan Pugh, says Ricky is crazy to pass by all the other special plates that Dixie III offers—“meat and three vegetables or spaghetti.” Mark Davidson started the Dixie III 25 years having grown up working with his dad, former county commissioner Kenyon Davidson, who started the original Dixie Restaurant in Asheboro more that 40 years ago. So Mark comes from an Asheboro restaurant family that takes pride in “full service-- meats, seafood, homemade desserts, plus fresh vegetables in season like pinto beans, fried okra, squash, green beans. We’ve got customers from every walk of life--suit ties or mud on your shoes, it’s all okay with us.”
